SUMMARY

A brand has its own identity, attitude, beliefs, story and character – and just like many successful startups, Teleport is our new identity and our story to tell. We are in the midst of formulating a brand identity that has relevant content with an emotional promise and has an appealing personality. This brand of ours coupled with our current fast paced on-goings (new deals, new brand image, new hires, new JVs) should be effectively communicated both internally amongst our Teleport family and externally with our stakeholders and the public. 

We are looking for a thoughtful, creative and open-minded communicator. As a Brand Lead, you will be working with a team of 3-4 and will be based out of our office in RedQ. You will be expected to be performing this role on a Full-Time basis. The role reports to the Branding & Communications Manager.

A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

  • Conceptualize, strategize, plan & execute a strong & positive brand positioning for AirAsia in Malaysia and related countries served by AirAsia and its affiliates
  • Generate names for new and existing products and services, coming up with ideas for new packaging designs, including shape, size, colours, fonts and imagery
  • Oversee the production of all communication materials inclusive but not limited to video, audio, print, out-of-home, direct communication, digital, mobile & social media, websites, on ground activation, retail, packaging, brand experience design and liaising with art designers, copywriters, media buyers and printers
  • Execute & Enforce the Brand/Corporate Identity to the consumers, public as well as employees i.e. the Teleport Brand Culture in AirAsia
  • Develop monthly and quarterly reports for management
  • Produce competitive analysis comparing product with its key competitors
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, editorial, product, marketing, design, and operations to execute specific marketing plans for each assigned title
  • Manage the day-to-day activities associated marketing efforts, including project management, creative development, cross-functional implementation, campaign tracking and reporting as necessary
  • Assist in monitoring brand health metrics and support the development of new brand tracking across businesses

These are skills that are ‘nice-to-have’ and will make you stand-out in the job application:

  • Able to write or speak well in Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin
  • Have an instinctive feeling about design, trends & fashion concepts
  • Have good analytical skills
  • Be a good listener, able to respond to results and consumer research

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in advertising, mass communication or relevant fields
  • 5+ years experience in advertising or marketing with at least 3 years experience in brand advertising and/or direct response marketing capacity
